Hi! My name is Anne Michael -
After working for 51 years, it was time to retire and do all the things I wanted to do but never had the time for. My hubby and I left the hustle and bustle of Florida and retired to a house on Lake Eufaula that is small enough not to need all my time and attention. We are tucked into the woods on a slough. It’s lovely and peaceful.
I tried Quilting - well, that takes far more patience and skill than I have. Painting a wall one color is one thing - painting a piece of canvas - something else entirely. Fishing??? Nope, not for me - baiting a hook with something alive and wiggly - ewwww - I leave that to the good fisher folk on the lake! Other than a good cup of tea and a great read - I just couldn’t settle on the thing I loved the most.
My longtime friend, Jackie, suggested making baskets. She sent me everything I needed to make my first one. (Except for a sewing machine - I already had that!) That first attempt was NOT the best basket I was going to make. But like the fish in the Lake - I was hooked. I discovered a passion, a creativity and a patience I didn’t know I possessed. I just have to make them. It delights me to use the fabrics, trims and embellishments I have been collecting since I was 12 years old and made my first article of clothing.
I have come up with designs and styles all my own. You won’t find them anywhere else. No two baskets are identical and while someone may like a style or color combination - and ask for a basket like the one they saw - - there will be little differences so each basket is unique and one of a kind.
I love creating and waking up some mornings with a new idea or color scheme to try. I hope you love owning and using my baskets or giving them as gifts full of candy, soap, your own interesting handmade items or anything else you can think of. Load them up with biscuits or even your rings and things, keys and pocket stuff at the end of the day.
My baskets are made right here in Eufaula with a variety of ropes and cording for interesting shapes and textures, embellishments, colors. I know you will love them. I just introduced large and small trivets/hot mats to protect your tables. Like my baskets - each one is unique.
I sell my baskets locally at Superior Pecans and Gifts on Broad Street in the heart of downtown Eufaula, Alabama. If you are local - stop in and take a look. If you want something special, I can make it and you can pick it up at Superior Pecans when it's ready.

Products
My baskets are made right here on the shore of Lake Eufaula, Alabama in a variety of ropes, jute or cording in either round or oval shapes. Each one is embellished with different ribbons, laces, fabrics - some of them antique and some modern. They are made for the seasons or just what folks love.
They are made in 4 different sizes - large ($32) to use for biscuits/buns/fruit or bread. Medium ($22) -just right for filling with do-dads, cookies, candy or soaps. Small ($16)- perfect for unloading one's pockets at the end of the day or other small items to hold or display. Petite ($9)-perfect for rings and things. Your imagination waits for what you can do. Give them as gifts filled with your own handmade goodies.
I also make trivets or hot mats in large ovals ($16) to protect your tables from hot casserole dishes or that gorgeous ham or turkey for your holiday meals and small round ($9) mats for your hot side dishes and gravy boats.

Do you hate trying to pass the really hot casserole dish to the next person at the table- because you always get burned? Yep, me too!! That why there is a large loop on each trivet. Grab the loop and slide the mat and its hot dish to the next person at the table. I alway wondered why no one thought of it before!! When you are done with your meal hang your trivet using the loop!! 😏
